The Do's and Don'ts for Your Guitar Effects Pedal Board

By Jane Claire

I believe that any multi guitarist band is already familiar with the purpose of a single guitar effects pedal board. If you're one of those neophyte bands, a pedal board is actually not that hard to comprehend. It's just a simple board where all the pedals of your guitarist should be. Its name actually explains its overall function already. Plus, for you to secure the positions of the pedals and their separate outlets, you can stick them with Velcro.

You may still use other adhesive items but Velcro is the most famous product among them. A pedal board is available in any musical store. You can even come up with your own if you want to. The truth be told, various bands have already done this to suit their tastes and some of them have even attached tires to their own personalized board to increase its mobility and comfort. You can follow this style only if you want to do it. You can also leave your board the way you bought it.

Let's now discuss the supply of power that is needed by the guitar effects pedal board to run effectively. A lot of boards use DC power. However, the power would still depend on how the board was built. You can choose among different voltages level such as 40v, 24v, 18v, 15v, 12v and 9v. There are some boards which can accommodate higher levels that the one mentioned above. The power can also dictate what kind of effect a guitar would produce. Thus, as a guitarist you can definitely adjust the power level for you to produce the guitar sound that you want.

DC power can be produced in different ways. A single battery or a group of batteries which can be recharged after a short while are all great sources of DC power. One battery is suited to be used if you're going to play your guitar for a single performance only. However, if you are planning to play all night long, then don't use any battery and apply DC power instead. By doing this, expect to spend more cash that you would need to with a single battery since DC supply certainly doesn't come cheap. Plus, this power can make your background so noisy and it may not be the best thing for your band and your panel board.

Your board would certainly perform better if it is equipped with rechargeable batteries. One battery already has all the power that your different pedals need. Furthermore, you won't have to worry about any background noise while using this product. Save money and play noise free music by using reliable batteries.
