Islamic turban has been in use since the inception of this religion by Prophet Muhammad. This is a tradition which Muslims are quite familiar with. The emphasis on use of this garment has been strict since then up to today. It basically is a slim piece of cloth which they use to cover their heads as outlined in their holy book. It is for this reason that mandate has been given to everyone whether a child or an adult to always put it on; especially if they are from nations where Islam is the dominant religion.

The given cloth is wrapped around the head up to a point where the crown is completely covered from the view of other people. It has to be known that there is a style which is used to wrap it around the head. This style requires skills and teachings. Just wrapping it anyhow is not allowed under this culture.

Such a task is always a challenge to some people. Challenges usually arise in cases where the garment is quite long. In the end, some individuals end up making very tight ties which are a health hazard. Such cases make this person to have recurring headaches and feel uncomfortable. It is with practice that perfection in wrapping is achieved.

Availability of these pieces of clothes is in different colors with specifications and preference being centered on white, black, green and navy blue. There is no limitation that has been imposed on color. This means that a religious person has freedom to choose any color that he or she feels comfortable with at all times. The leaders do know that such variations are bound to arise as a result of differences in preferences.

Fine materials are used to make and devise them. These ones determine the entire costs of each. Some of those used are silk, cotton and synthetics. Preference is based on these ones since they are light and offer maximum comfort to the head. The heavy ones are not favorable especially in areas where temperatures within the day are very high.

The importance of this garment is specifically for distinction and identification purposes. It differentiates Muslim faithful from non-Muslims. That is why it has been in use for ages since time in memorial. It carries a lot of importance in strengthening the social ties within this religion. It is for this reason strictness is observed to ensure everyone wears it in a good manner.

Ladies are the ones who are highly encouraged to wear it at all times. Theirs is for covering the entire face with small space left for the eyes to see. This tradition is a must when they are appearing in public. It portrays high levels of decency in dressing especially for married women.

Islamic turban demonstrates the various aspects of humanity which are regarded highly within the Muslim world. They perceive it as the modest way of fidelity and respect for self and religion as a whole. The men are emphasized to put it on during prayer sessions as illustrated by the holy book.
