For a lot of highly talented female singers Florida is home and the place they got their start. Talent who sing various types of music from Jazz and R&B to Rock and Pop and a variety of other genres are all represented in the beautiful state and perform in studio sessions, in local night clubs, fairs and at private events like weddings.
Mandy Moore is a native to the state and grew-up in the city of Longwood, which is just outside of beautiful Orlando. Velia Marinex, born in 1920 Tampa, became a beloved singer and actress who did a lot of performing at nightclubs. She performed in theaters in Cuba, where she spend much of her time. One of her best loved films starred Errol Flynn and was called, "The Big Boodie".
There is a lot of undiscovered talent in the state, many of who are ready to perform at local clubs and fairs. Many of them also hire themselves out to perform at local events such as weddings and other private affairs. There are many session singers there too, including Jazz singer, Linda MacLean and many others.
