The Most Best Wassily Kandinsky Paintings

By David Grant

Wassily Kandinsky paintings are highly regarded across the art world by fans of painting and artwork and those who are not massively interested in the sector at all. Luckily, the size of a following around this painter means that there is an immense popularity for people who want to follow him. He is not a false prophet to follow, however. His skills at painting are second to none, with all of his pieces being known by those who love art and those who are indifferent towards it.

This painter is someone that the average person is likely to have heard of. He has managed to claw a place in the pantheon of widely acknowledged and recognized artists, alongside names like Leonardo Da Vinci, Pablo Picasso and Vincent Van Gogh. This artist is tremendously skilled and has managed to win his place on merit and the effect he has had on the world of art, rather than any lingering celebrity to be garnered from his name.

His biography is incredibly interesting. He was born in Moscow, Russia in 1886 and died almost seventy nine years later in 1944. His upbringing in this troubled nation had an undoubted effect on what he did: Russia at the time was full of innovative thinkers who lashed out against established norms. But the world was almost robbed of this great art mind: at university he studied law and economics.

The certainty associated with these subjects seems to be completely in contrast to the uncertain world of art, which caused the Russian great distress as he was undergoing his education. Indeed, he was constantly questioning the established norms, provoking debate. In a country like Russia, this was not altogether welcome. Because of unease, he spent his life careening between different nations, including Russia, Germany and France.

He was keen to break the mould and to innovate in every possible way. Not for nothing is he considered the world's first and most preeminent abstract painter. Had he not decided aged thirty to break away from his life, teaching law and economics at university, however, it may all have been different. He fled to Germany.

It was a brave decision for a man who by that point could have been deciding on a career for himself. He moved nations in order to devote himself to his art. At first, he focuses on vibrant color - this had been something which dominated his life.

At first, though, his art was not that much different from the standard fare. There were recognizable tableaux. In fact, the only thing which seemed to be different was an electric jolt of color which was mainlined into his work.

But eventually, Kandinsky paintings became more abstract in nature. This coincided with his time at the world renowned Bauhaus. Works such as On White II became world famous, and are readily recognized as a product of this talent's brush by even the least interested person in art. This various 'Compositions' are also favored by many. People who do not like art like his work: it is seen as accessible, modern and fun.
