Dallas Top Theaters

Broadway, Texas? You might call it that. Many of the theaters in Dallas rival the best Broadway show in NY when it comes to talent, opulence and showmanship. From Les Miserables to West Side Story, if you are looking for a star in Texas, you will find it at one of the spectacular theaters Dallas has to give.

Music Hall at Fair Park

Gripping audiences for more than 85 years with spectacular classics,eg "Aida", "Phantom of the Opera", and "Miss Saigon", the Music Hall at Fair Park boasts opulent Western european design including six surging step columns and seating for over 3,200 folk. The top quality acoustics are frequently praised by musicians who play there. The Music Hall at Fair park offers dining at the Crystal Terrace Restaurant and earphones for the hearing-impaired.

Winspear Opera House

Part of the 10-acre AT&T Performing Arts Center in downtown Dallas, the new Winspear Opera House seats 2,200 amid a wonder of modern design. Its glass cover creates a micro climate around the breathtaking location while its 318-rod candelabrum twinkles over the sounds of The Dallas Opera and illuminates the intricate steps of the Texas Ballet Theater. Recent performances include "Otello" and "Les Miserables".

McFarlin Auditorium

Found on the grounds of the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, the McFarlin Memorial Auditorium holds the honour of being on the National Historic Register and hosts dignitaries and significant ceremonies as well as international dance companies and world-renown entertainers, including the Houston Ballet, the St. Louis Symphony and the band Tool. One of the most beautiful concert halls in Dallas, the McFarlin seats more than 2,300 in the orchestra, first and second balcony.

Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre

Finished in 2009, this vertical theater in Dallas located in the AT&T Performing Arts Center features a 12-story construction, hiding the supporting structures from view and opening up the performance space. In addition, this tall, box-like structure allows performers to open the blinds to reveal the city of Dallas behind the performers. The Wyly Theater also features Pay-What-You-Can tickets, permitting penny-pinching theatergoers to name their own ticket price in the week before a performance.
